Since July 2025, we've adopted a predictable versioning strategy for upgrades

Current Release: Mage-OS 4
Built on Magento Open Source 2.4.9, with SEO, AI discoverability, passkeys, and product feeds built in.
SEO & Structured Data
Google-ready JSON-LD, social share cards, robots and canonical control, and multistore hreflang, with no paid extension needed.
AI Discoverability
Opt-in /llms.txt files and a product feed for AI assistants, plus control over which AI crawlers may index your store.
Passkey Sign-In
Passwordless customer login with Face ID, fingerprints, or security keys, and a passkey provider for admin 2FA.
Product Feeds
Built-in feeds for Google Shopping, Meta, Pinterest, TikTok, and Microsoft, configured entirely in the admin.
FAQ Manager
Manage FAQs in the admin, place them with a widget or Page Builder, and get FAQ rich results automatically.
Extension Directory
Browse about 1,100 open-source modules from the admin, with quality and compatibility signals.
Real-Time Stock Availability
An optional product page panel showing stock per source and per variant, driven by MSI.
AI Admin Assistant
Mago answers questions about your store in plain language, using your own AI provider key.
2026 Roadmap
Our development priorities are shaped by community input through weekly tech meetings, GitHub discussions, and member voting.
Q1 2026 (January - March)
Mage-OS 2.1-2.2 - Minor releases incorporating upstream security patches. Plus continued Lab module evaluations, developer experience improvements, and documentation expansion.
Q2 2026 (April - June)
Mage-OS 2.3 & 3.0 - Mage-OS 3.0, our next major release, shipped in May on Magento Open Source 2.4.9 with PHP 8.5 support, new Mage-OS Lab features, and updated system requirements.
Q3-Q4 2026 (July - December)
Mage-OS 3.x & 4.0 - Security releases on 3.x, followed by Mage-OS 4.0, our next major release, with built-in SEO and structured data, AI discoverability, passkey sign-in, product feeds, and newly graduated Lab modules. Plus ecosystem integrations and community growth initiatives.
Security Patch Schedule
Starting in 2026, Adobe releases security patches on the second Tuesday of each month

Mage-OS Response: Minor version release within days

Mage-OS Response: Emergency patch as needed
